DMP arrests 2 over attack on July Rebels member
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today (14 December) arrested two individuals in connection with the attack on Mohammad Rezwan, a member of the July Rebels organisation, in the capital.
The arrestees are Md Masum and Md Fahim Khan, according to a statement issued by the Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP.
Police said the attack took place around 7:30pm yesterday (13 December) in the Sector 6 area of Uttara in Dhaka.
Mohammad Rezwan was injured in the assault and was taken to a nearby private hospital, where he received treatment. Following the incident, police conducted raids at several locations in the capital.
As part of the operation, officers of Uttara East Police Station arrested the two accused named in the first information report during a raid in the Dakkhinkhan area around 5:30am.
Police said further operations are underway to investigate the case and arrest other accused persons named in the FIR.
Another member of the organisation was also injured in the attack yesterday, according to media reports.
