EC schedule declared for Pabna-1 and Pabna-2
The Election Commission has issued a new schedule and confirmed the boundaries for the Pabna-1 and Pabna-2 constituencies following a directive from the High Court's Appellate Division.
According to the schedule signed by EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed, the last date for submitting nomination paper is 18 January.
Scrutiny will be held on 19 January, appeals can be filed from January 20–24 and disposed of on 25 January.
Candidates can withdraw by 26 January, symbols will be allotted on 27 January, and voting is scheduled for 12 February 2026.
Earlier, the EC had suspended election activities in these two constituencies due to boundary disputes. The High Court order confirms that the boundaries defined in the EC gazette of 4 September 2025, remain valid.
Under the finalised boundaries: Pabna-1 includes Santhia Upazila and parts of Bera Upazila: Bera Municipality, Hatulia Nakalia, New Varenga, Chakla, and Kaitola Unions. Pabna-2 includes Sujanagar Upazila, one municipality, and four unions of Bera Upazila, excluding the rest of the area.
