Actor Bidya Sinha Mim has signed on for her first project with streaming platform Chorki, joining an untitled original film to be directed by Kazi Asad. The agreement was finalised on 13 December, with filming scheduled to begin later this month.

Director Kazi Asad, who previously made the Chorki series Adhunik Bangla Hotel, described the project as an emotional story that will present Mim in an unfamiliar space. "We usually see Mim in glamorous roles. The challenge here is to break that image and introduce her to a new kind of character," he said. "I'm hopeful audiences will understand what we are trying to do."

Mim said the script was the reason she agreed to the film after turning down several offers. "People often ask why I've been working less. The answer is simple — nothing felt right," she said. "When Kazi Asad narrated this story, and I watched his earlier work on Chorki, I felt this was something I needed to do."

She declined to reveal details about her role, but hinted at a strong character arc. "There's something special in the story, and it comes through the journey of my character," Mim said. "Chorki is a major platform, and I regularly watch their films and series. I hope my first project here turns out well."

The film's story is written by Mahmudul Hasan Tipu and Kazi Asad, with the screenplay by Asaduzzaman Abir. Additional cast members will be announced later.
