Music artist Rana releases new song “Ghure Daranor Swapno”
Canadian-based Bangladeshi music artist Dr Anisur Rahman Rana has released his new song "Ghure Daranor Swapno", marking his ninth original Bangla composition.
A guitarist and singer living in Canada, Rana has been performing regularly at music events across the country. His songs have also gained appreciation on digital platforms such as YouTube and Spotify. He is currently focused primarily on producing original Bangla music. The music video of "Ghure Daranor Swapno" has been released on YouTube, while the audio is available on YouTube Music and Spotify.
The song's lyrics and tune were written and composed by Rana himself. He also handled the guitar, keyboard and percussion programming. Recording took place at The Articulates and Studio Levene, while mixing and mastering were done by Abdullah Al Masud, guitarist of the band LRB. The music video was shot by SH Palash and Nazar Ayanur Rahman. Rana said the song reflects the triumph of life and encourages listeners to rise above pain, frustration, sorrow and struggle, and to rediscover the courage to move forward. "No matter how much sorrow and hardship come into our lives, we must overcome them and dream of moving ahead in a new way," he said.
He added that he has been overwhelmed by the positive response to his original songs, particularly from Bangladeshi communities around the world. Listeners from Bangladesh and abroad frequently send messages expressing their appreciation, which he described as deeply motivating. Identifying mainly as a rock genre artist, Rana said this allows him to bring diversity to his music. He expressed hope to release more original and high-quality Bangla songs in the future and to reach a wider Bangla-speaking audience worldwide.
By profession, Dr Anisur Rahman Rana is a physician and a faculty member at McMaster University. He said music remains an inseparable part of his life, and he expressed gratitude to his family, especially his spouse, as well as to all music lovers for their continued support.
