Bangladesh national volleyball team have set their sights on the title of six-nation CAVA (Central Asian Volleyball Association) Cup, beginning at Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.

Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan are other participants of the seven-day tournament. Bangladesh have been preparing for the tournament for a month under the supervision of newly appointed Japanese coach Ryan Masajedi.

"Although we were not in the games for sometimes, we beat Afghanistan in two matches that strengthened our confidence," captain Horosit Biswas said during a press conference at the BOA auditorium on Monday.

"Besides, we have been preparing for one month for this tournament. So, we want to play the final."

Coach Masajedi said, "The players are ready to play the tournament. The shortcoming of playing warm up matches we had has been fulfilled a bit by playing the matches against Afghanistan. So we are confident to play the final."

Bangladesh Volleyball Federation general secretary Bimal Ghosh Bhulu informed that they have estimated a budget of Tk 1.3 crore for the tournament.
