The Election Commission (EC) is set to extend polling duration by one hour in the upcoming 13th National Election, Election Commissioner Brig Gen (retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah said today.
"Voting will run from 7:30am to 4:30pm," he said after a meeting held at the EC headquarters in Dhaka's Agargaon.
The Election Commission, led by CEC AMM Nasir Uddin, met today to review overall preparations and finalise the date for announcing the schedule for the upcoming national election and referendum.
The EC is expected to announce the election schedule this week, he said, adding that the EC will send a letter to Bangladesh Television (BTV) tomorrow requesting the recording of the CEC's speech for the schedule announcement.
Election materials, including ballot papers, will be delivered to the respective polling centres on the night before election day, he added.
