The Skill Development Institute of Atish Dipankar University of Science and Technology and the Dr Mahabubur Rahman Molla Institute of Science and Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Sunday to collaborate on skills development programmes.

The signing took place at 11:00am. Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon, former state minister for education and director of the Skill Development Institute at Atish Dipankar University, and Dr Mahabubur Rahman Molla, founder of the Dr Mahabubur Rahman Molla Institute of Science and Technology, signed on behalf of their respective institutions.

Shamsul Alam Liton, chairman of the board of trustees of Atish Dipankar University, attended as special guest. Officials from Edust Skill Development Institute, along with faculty members and students of the Dr Mahabubur Rahman Molla Institute, were present.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Milon said: "Dr Mahabubur Rahman Molla Institute is at the forefront of building a poverty-free, skilled nation. If given the opportunity to serve again, I would work to eliminate mismanagement in education and help create a cheating-free, educated workforce."

Chairman Shamsul Alam Liton said: "Through this MOU, Atish Dipankar University's Skill Development Institute will launch a national skills programme in collaboration with students of the Dr Mahabubur Rahman Molla Institute. Establishing colleges in underserved areas shows how education can transform an entire community."
