Director Mehedi Hassan Hridoy, who rose to prominence after his film "Borbaad" starring Shakib Khan released during last Eid al-Fitr, has begun shooting his next project titled "Biday". Though the director had remained tight-lipped about his next venture for months, filming has now officially started in Taherpur, Sunamganj.

Initially, there were rumours that Mehedi Hassan's next film would again feature Shakib Khan. Later, reports suggested Siam Ahmed would play the lead. However, producer Shahrin Akter has now clarified that the "Borbaad" follow-up featuring Siam has been postponed. "For now, we're working on Biday with Bapparaj, Prarthana Fardin Dighi, and several other stars," she said.

The film marks the first on-screen collaboration between veteran actor Bapparaj and young actress Dighi. Shooting began last Friday across various locations in Sunamganj, with Bapparaj joining the set on Monday to film his scenes. He plays the role of a chairman — marking his return to cinema after a long break.

When asked about the project, Bapparaj stated that the production company had requested the cast not to discuss details at this stage. "I'll be able to talk more about it once filming wraps up later this month," he added.

With Mehedi Hassan back behind the camera and a fresh pairing of two generations — Bapparaj and Dighi — "Biday" is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Bangladeshi films of the coming year
