Police recovered the body of a Jagannath University student from a building in Old Dhaka this evening (19 October). 

The deceased has been identified as Md Jobayed Hossen, a 15th batch student of Jagannath University and a member of the university's Chhatra Dal convening committee. 

Confirming the matter, Akkas Mia, duty officer at Banshal Police Station said, police visited the scene after local residents spotted the body and alerted the authorities.

An investigation is ongoing and more details will be known later, he added.
