A special cultural event titled "Harmony of Friendship" will take place at Rabindra Sarobar today to mark the 100th anniversary of Russian public diplomacy and Bangladesh's Victory Day.

Organised by the Russian House in Dhaka, the programme will feature traditional Russian folk dance along with a live concert by Bangladeshi band Shonar Bangla Circus. The event will begin at 6:30pm.

According to organisers, the evening will open with a folk dance showcase highlighting the richness and diversity of Russian cultural heritage. Shonar Bangla Circus will perform afterwards, followed by additional cultural presentations.

The event is dedicated to two historic milestones — a century of Russia's public diplomacy efforts and Bangladesh's Victory Day — symbolising the long-standing friendship, mutual respect and cultural ties between the two nations.

Organisers said the programme is "not just a concert", but a celebration of culture, unity and friendship aimed at deepening people-to-people connections between Bangladesh and Russia.

The festival is being arranged in collaboration with Jumpstart Inc as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural exchange between the countries. The event is free and open to all.
