A trader was killed after unidentified miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons in Dhaka's Dakshinkhan on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Shajahan Dealer, 45, a resident of Dakshinkhan near Ashkona Water Pump.

A witness requesting anonymity said that Shahjahan was chased down by 5-6 men before launching attack on him in the streets.

Dakshinkhan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shoriful Islam said the incident occurred around 9:00pm when Shajahan went to Noddapara's Taltola area for business purposes.

Miscreants attacked him on the road, stabbed him in the head, leaving him dead on the spot, said the OC.

Police said they are collecting and reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify and arrest those involved in the murder.
