BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman's wife, Zubaida Rahman, landed in Bangladesh this morning.

She arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 10:44am on flight BG 302 from London.

From the airport, she reached Evercare Hospital at 11:54am to meet her mother-in-law, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who has been receiving treatment there for the past 13 days.

A crowd of BNP leaders and activists gathered on the street outside the hospital to welcome her as she arrived, chanting slogans in support..

BNP Standing Committee member Selima Rahman received her at the hospital entrance.

After a two-and-a-half hour stay, Zubaida left Evercare at 2:30 pm and headed towards her residence in Dhanmondi.

Party sources confirmed that Zubaida is expected to travel back to London on December 7 as part of the accompanying team for Khaleda Zia.

Zubaida's last visit to Bangladesh was on May 6 this year, after nearly 17 years, to meet Khaleda Zia. Following a one-month stay with family members, she returned to London on June 5.

Zubaida and her husband Tarique originally left Dhaka for London in September 2008.
