An Ayub Bachchu Museum and Cultural Hub is set to be established in Dhaka's Moghbazar area at the initiative of the Ayub Bachchu Foundation.
Spread across 10 kathas of land, the museum will preserve an extensive collection of memorabilia from the legendary musician's personal and musical life.
Ferdous Akhtar Chondona, wife of Ayub Bachchu and president of the foundation, said that work on the project is progressing steadily, though sponsorship is needed to carry it forward.
Abdullah Al Masud, secretary of the foundation and a longtime companion of the late artist, shared that the museum will display many of Ayub Bachchu's personal belongings, including his guitars, T-shirts, hats, caps, rings, and sunglasses, along with other treasured items from his life and career.
A recording studio modeled after AB Kitchen, Ayub Bachchu's iconic workspace, will also be part of the museum. Visitors and music enthusiasts will have the chance to experience the artist's life and creative legacy up close. The complex will additionally include a musical café, an auditorium, and an open studio for musicians.
According to the foundation, each section of the museum will narrate a chapter of Ayub Bachchu's artistic journey—from his beginnings in Chattogram and rise in Dhaka to the formation of LRB and his many celebrated performances.
Masud added, "We are also planning to introduce a virtual reality experience, allowing visitors to relive Ayub Bachchu's concerts. However, to bring this grand vision to life, both government and private sector support are crucial. We hope people across the country will stand beside this initiative. Our goal is for the museum to become not just a space for preserving memories but a true hub of cultural inspiration."
