A college student was stabbed to death allegedly by robbers in Gazipur early today.The deceased, Jihad, 20, resided in Deor Adarsh Para area of Tongi and was a fourth semester student of Brahmanbaria Polytechnic Institute.Police said Jihad left his house around 8:00pm on Sunday with Tk 3,000 for his semester fee. A college student was stabbed to death allegedly by robbers in Gazipur early today.
The deceased, Jihad, 20, resided in Deor Adarsh Para area of Tongi and was a fourth semester student of Brahmanbaria Polytechnic Institute.
Police said Jihad left his house around 8:00pm on Sunday with Tk 3,000 for his semester fee. On the way, robbers waylaid him on Auchpara Shafiuddin Sarkar Academy Road and stabbed him while trying to snatch the money.
Locals rescued Jihad in a critical state before he succumbed to his injuries at 2:00am.
Police later arrested four alleged robbers in this connection -- Abdullah, 20, Swadhin, 20, Alamin, 24, and another unidentified person, said Md Haron Or Rashid, officer-in-charge of Tongi West Police Station.
