Bashundhara Kings ended Fortis FC's four-match unbeaten run against them with a 2-1 victory in the Bangladesh Football League second-round clash at Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka on Monday.

Fortis, playing their second match against Kings this season, were undone almost immediately. Within 40 seconds, midfielder Raphael Augustin delivered a long ball to an unmarked Dorielton Gomes, who nodded it home, leaving Fortis goalkeeper Sujan Perera stunned.

Kings doubled their lead on the hour mark when substitute Mojibur Rahman Jonny surged down the right flank and cut the ball back to Dorielton, who set up Faisal Ahmed Fahim to score with a low drive.

The match briefly halted due to crowd unrest among Fortis fans, but in stoppage time, Nigerian striker Onyekachi Okafor pulled one back for Fortis but it ended up being a consolation goal.

Elsewhere, newly promoted PWD Sports Club shocked Arambagh KS in Manikganj, with Uzbekistan's Turaev Akobir scoring the decisive goal in the 22nd minute. The win put PWD level on four points with Kings, Rahmatganj MFS, and Bangladesh Police FC, all joint leaders after two matches.
