Police arrested a man early today in connection with the rape of a 25-year-old university student in Savar.

Mithu Biswas, 35, was arrested around 3:00am from the Tejgaon area of Dhakal, said Md Jewel Mia, officer-in-charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station.

The arrest was made after the victim filed a case on October 16 with Savar Model Police Station, naming three individuals as accused.

While walking back from the vendor's shop with the key, she was approached by Sohel Rosario, who questioned her about various matters. Shortly after, Biplob and Mitthu joined Sohel in following her. Around 7:00pm, Sohel allegedly threatened her and took her to his residence, where he raped her with the assistance of the other two men.

The victim further said that she was threatened with death if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
